| The Business Librarian at Cal Poly is a tenure-track faculty member responsible for aligning library services with the university’s "Learn by Doing" mission. Primary responsibilities include serving as the lead liaison to the Orfalea College of Business where they support undergraduate and graduate programs across the San Luis Obispo, Solano, and community college 2+2 degree contexts. Additionally, the Business Librarian plays a lead liaison role for Agribusiness in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, supporting hands-on, interdisciplinary programs that integrate quantitative analysis and industry engagement. The role involves active collaboration with faculty and students to meet accreditation and curricular priorities. In addition to discipline-specific duties, the position entails participation in library-wide strategic initiatives, and a formal program of scholarship and creative work. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to professional scholarship and service, meeting the university’s requirements for tenure and promotion through active engagement in the field. The Collection Strategies Librarian leverages data and emerging technologies to build representative, inclusive collections that support a broad range of academic disciplines and research methods. Working under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Collections, Systems, and Digital Strategy, the role prioritizes equitable access and sustainable licensing in a global information landscape. | We are seeking licensed applicants to sail and serve aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear as a Licensed Watch Engineer – Engine for the 2026 Summer Sea Term. This temporary position reports directly to the Chief Engineer of the Training Ship Golden Bear and is responsible for various watches, participating in drills, and supervising assistant watch engineers in their duties.
For the 2026 Summer Sea Term the Training Ship Golden Bear will be traveling to the South Pacific.
