
Visiting Professorship
The Departments of Women's, Gender, and Queer Studies and History are searching for a one-year visiting professor. This position will include teaching and service obligations divided between the two departments. The position will entail 12 WTUs of teaching and 3 WTUs of IRR each quarter, totaling to 36 WTUs of teaching and 9 WTUs of IRR. The visiting professorship will likely include a mix of upper- and lower-division courses in History and WGQS, in support of the General Education program, History major, and/or minor programs in Women's and Gender Studies and Queer Studies.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,221

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D., MFA, or other appropriate terminal degree in WGQS, History, or other related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching WGQS and/or History courses
