Job Summary

  1. Independently serve as the individual responsible for reviewing all Sponsored Projects and internal funding awards to identify potential areas of compliance that need to be addressed and ensure compliance requirements are met, including appropriate protocol approvals and training.
  2. Evaluate campus research activities and implement appropriate procedures and training programs to ensure research integrity principles are followed for activities conducted by Cal Poly students, faculty, and staff.  Ensure compliance with federal, state, sponsor, CSU, and Cal Poly requirements, including, but not limited to, Animal Subjects Research, Conflict of Interest in Research, use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, training requirements, and other state and federal regulatory requirements.
  3. Serve as the lead staff administrator for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACU), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC), developing and managing review processes, providing campus and committee member training, ensuring appropriate committee membership, ensuring committee meetings occur and minutes are taken, and communicating with faculty, student, and staff researchers.
  4. Identify potential Conflicts of Interest and independently determine which potential conflicts are sufficiently significant to be reviewed by the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC). Work with staff within Division of Research, Cal Poly faculty, and private companies to negotiate, draft, and coordinate Conflict of Interest management plans that comply with all applicable federal and California State Regulations.
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Four years of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $31.94 - $35.14 per hour

Classification Range: $31.94- $57.77 per hour
