Job/Department Summary:

Working independently under general direction, the Provost Office and Academic Affairs Support provides coordinated administrative and operational support for the Provost’s Office and the Academic Affairs division. The position supports the day-to-day administrative operations of the Provost’s Office, including oversight of student employees, maintenance of office systems and records, and support for time-sensitive operational work and process improvement efforts.

In addition, the position serves as a divisional support resource by providing time-limited administrative support to colleges and departments during vacancies, planned absences, staffing transitions, peak workload periods, and division-wide initiatives, helping to maintain continuity of operations across Academic Affairs. The position also coordinates administrative and logistical support for meetings, events, and programs sponsored by the Provost’s Office, including the Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association Hall of Honor nomination process and recognition event.

The Provost is the Chief Academic Officer of the University responsible to the President for the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan for the Future with a particular emphasis on the creation of high-quality learning environments, faculty and staff development, the wise use of new technologies in learning and teaching, service to others, and an accountability for the strategic use of the resources entrusted to CSU, Chico by the state of California.

Required Education and Experience:

This position requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with four years of related office work experience.

Preferences:

Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: 

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible office or administrative support experience
  • Experience planning or coordinating events
  • Experience working in a complex organizational environment requiring collaboration   across multiple stakeholders

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

CSU Classification Salary Range:  $52,404 (Step 1) - $76,344 (Step 20) per year.
