Position Description

Job Summary

This position assists the Senior Director of Operations and Business Transformation to administer Student Affairs operations, develop, and implement plans that align with business goals, establishing project deliverables, creating KPIs and metrics, assuring fiscal and procurement requirements, and supporting the transformation of services that enhance the student experience. This is a hybrid position eligible for remote work pursuant to Cal Poly’s Telecommuting and Remote Work Guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

Department Summary

Cal Poly’s division of Student Affairs delivers innovative co-curricular learning experiences that directly impact student recruitment, retention, and graduation. One of the largest divisions on campus, Student Affairs is committed to the active engagement, wellbeing, inclusion, and success of all students. Student Affairs Administration and Divisional Operations is the divisional service unit responsible for supporting effectiveness and enhancing the student experience across all program areas, enhancing the delivery of innovative student-centered programs, supporting personal growth, encouraging lifelong connections, and empowering services for all students within a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Key Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in and advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public and business administration and operational and fiscal management.
  • Expertise in administrative survey techniques, operations and fiscal analysis, statistical and research methods, and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive of and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to represent the department in a professional manner, determine customer's needs and complete design requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team to problem solving; ability to manage competing deadlines; ability to manage projects with a sense of urgency to complete projects, attention to detail, effective time management and follow-through to resolution of open items.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. Four (4) years of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $75,000-$90,000 per year

Classification Range: $56,316 - $101,868 per year
