Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, the Associate Director of Development (Associate Director) is responsible for providing development and fundraising services designed to increase private support for the priorities of Athletics and the University. The Associate Director is responsible for outreach to alumni, friends, parents, key volunteers and local businesses. Through this effort the Associate Director will identify prospects, coordinating and executing supporter visits, and appropriately developing and implementing fundraising strategies that promote Athletics and University priorities. The Associate Director will communicate effectively and collaborate with on-campus personnel, including administration, coaching staffs and management to foster a team approach. The Associate Director is expected to travel extensively with required day and overnight travel up to 50% of the time.
The role will require on-the-job training and mentorship. Incumbents will employ Plus Delta training and will be expected to learn how to move donors through Plus Delta's Donor Engagement Process (DEP), conduct 180 significant or substantive donor meetings, and submit 20 major gift proposals annually. These metrics will be reviewed annually with the central UD team and the targets may be adjusted based on business needs.

Department Summary
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 21 sports at the NCAA Division I level. All sports compete in the Big West Conference except Football (Big Sky Conference), Wrestling (PAC-12) and Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving (MPSF). Women's NCAA Division I sports programs are: basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, swimming and diving, tennis, golf and beach volleyball. Men's NCAA Division I sports programs are: football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis, outdoor track and field, soccer, and wrestling.

- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of high level and sensitive interpersonal situations with diverse personalities, and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
- Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere in and outside the University with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Education and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of administrative or operational experience with one year being direct fundraising experience. Experience in administrative or operational roles may be ssubstituted for education on a year for year basis.
Licenses, Certificates, Credentials:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by date of hire.

Salary and Benefits
The anticipated hiring range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Note that the offer is calculated based on the background and relevant years of experience of the individual selected.
