Chief of Police Channel Islands
The Chief of Police provides executive leadership and overall direction for the CSU Channel Islands University Police Department and is responsible for protecting life and property, promoting a safe and secure campus environment, preventing and responding to crime and disorder, and supporting the safety and well-being of students, employees, visitors, and the broader campus community. The Chief is responsible for enforcing applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as California State University and CSUCI rules, regulations, and policies. The position oversees law enforcement operations, crime prevention, investigations, police communications and the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point, records and CJIS compliance, property and evidence functions, Clery Act support, emergency management, business continuity, transportation and parking services, and related public safety programs. The Chief also serves as a visible campus leader responsible for professional standards, accreditation, community trust, equity and inclusion, and effective partnerships across CSUCI and with external public safety agencies.
