Assistant Area Coordinator (Temporary) East Bay
Employed by the Department of University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL), the Assistant Area Coordinator (AAC) is a full-time, temporary live-in position. The AAC at Cal State East Bay is expected to initiate “high touch” front-line interaction with students as they develop formal and informal relationships. They are expected to build communities that focus on student learning and development, supporting student needs, and inclusivity for all students. The AAC will support and work with their supervisor and team leader(s) in managing the functions of their assigned residential area. This role will not conform to a standard 9:00am to 5:00pm workday rather it requires the individual to work evenings and weekends in order to best meet the needs of the community.

Director of Basic Needs (Administrator II, Range 1) - Basic Needs San Francisco
Under the administrative direction of the Associate Dean of Students, in the Division of Student Life, the Director of Food+Shelter+Success (Basic Needs) supports the academic mission of the University by providing vision, leadership, and strategic direction for a wide array of culturally competent basic needs programs, services, and initiatives. Basic Needs programs enhance students’ capacities to be active, engaged, and successful learners, and include the development, delivery, and evaluation of systemic and sustainable interventions that ameliorate basic needs in a manner that promotes dignity and minimizes marginalization. The Director provides supervision and coaching to a team of four professional staff, numerous undergraduate/graduate interns and volunteers, manages an annual budget of $1.5 million, and works closely with the Dean of Students Office, the Division of Student Life managers, and stakeholders across Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and the University. The Director serves as a key member of the divisional and Cabinet area leadership groups, participating in strategic planning, outcomes assessment, programs and policy development, and decision making. The Director oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive array of evidence-based basic needs and economic stability programs, designed for 21st century students on an urban campus that serves a high proportion of 1st generation, low-income, and underrepresented racial minority students. The Director is responsible for the research and preparation of grant porposals to secure resources that address the basic needs of our ethnically and culturally diverse student population. The Director must incorporate educational equity, social justice, cultural humility, and diversity concepts and principles into all work.

Under the general direction of the Director of Payment Services, the Accountant II plays a key role in supporting the university’s financial operations through day‑to‑day accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting activities. This position performs professional‑level accounting work using GAAP, FASB, and GASB standards, including account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and compliance reporting. The Accountant II contributes to campus and systemwide financial reporting, prepares forecasts and board reports to support informed decision‑making, and assists with the implementation of new payment systems such as Concur. In addition, this role provides guidance and training to payment services staff and campus partners, helping to ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficient financial processes across the university.
